The Broadwater is the largest expanse of calm water in Australia and it dominates this area.  This superb, natural waterway provides a haven for boating and watersports enthusiasts. It's a popular spot for  recreational fishing and the swimming in the protected shallows is excellent.

Southport is the oldest of the Gold Coast holiday destinations, with visitors from Brisbane dating back to the 1890's. Being located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, it only takes a few minutes to reach the major theme parks.

The accommodation in this area consists of a small number high rise properties, but the majority comprises self contained apartments in low to mid rise apartment blocks.
